Every week we like to promote at least one event that’s coming up on our Instagram and Twitter channels, so please don’t forget to add your website when adding your event. This is so our readers can get more information about the event and potentially book their places!
We’re currently having issues with users submitting images. As a short term solution, please email an image for the event to firstname.lastname@example.org Make sure you add the event in the subject line so we know where it goes. Having an image helps our readers get a taste for the event and will also make it easier for us to potentially promote it on our social channels.
* We reserve the right to remove events which are not related to health and fitness or based in London at our discretion.
As part of its ongoing commitment to the philanthropy and sustainability of London’s Holborn, Bloomsbury, St Giles, Farringdon and Clerkenwell areas, BEE Midtown presents a programme of over 150 free guided walks; exploring the district’s peppered heritage of activists, authors, murders, musicians – and much more.
On Saturdays 3rd and 24th February plus 3rd and 10th March, the HEIST walk will tour the sites of some of London’s most infamous robberies; the £25 million diamond and jewellery theft of 2015 (where the average age of the gang was 66!), a location from the film ‘Sexy Beast, hotspots connected the snatch of £45,000 in gold bullion from a lorry owned by the Dutch airline KLM and the haunts of the 19th century “Napoleon of Crime,” Adam Worth.
Lasting two hours, the Heist walk will be guided by Aly Mir.
Tass Mavrogordato, BEE Midtown’s CEO commented: “though our series of fully guided free walks, you can explore Midtown’s historical past and learn about Jimi Hendrix and Sherlock Holmes’ connections from one of London’s best connected areas, where EC1 meets WC1. Highlights include the insider knowledge you’ll uncover about this eclectic area from ‘Aly’ who has curated over 150 Midtown walking experiences for everyone to enjoy. What better way to discover the history of Midtown and find out about the best places to eat, drink and great things to do whether you are living, working or simply visiting London”.
