Men can be so hard to buy for! This is to help if you have one of these types on your Christmas pressie list!
Who is this man? A rugby playing man is out in the cold, getting knocked about and a wee bit battered and bruised on a fairly regular basis. They have sore muscles on Sunday and if training was tough during the week, during the week too. They get cold and smelly but know how to relax and have fun after (the kind of fun depends on the level they are playing at) but a social rugby team player will often hit the club house with their team mates after a game for a beer or 5. Since rugby obviously is a competitive sport this will be part of their nature and will want to keep at the top of their game, making sure they get selected for the squad, therefore, they keep in shape and look after themselves as well. After having a good look at the needs of some of the rugby boys we know, we came up with the following….
Men’s Health Active Life Box, from £19.95 a month
Get him some healthy food stuffs to fuel him through tough training sessions and match days. Lifebox fill their boxes with the latest health foods and clean eats and this one is specifically catered to the hairier of the species, so with this gift he doesn’t have to think about it, it’s all there ready for him ready to grab and go!
Beach rugby ball, £9.90
Check out Amazon for a selection of beach rugby balls. I know it’s cold and wintery now but think ahead… if he is off anywhere in the future where there is a beach and other men, chances are , they will enjoy throwing a ball about. Oh and if you are there too – you’ll get more peace and quiet to get your tan on if he has something to entertain him…. Win win!
Badger Balm, Sore Muscle Rub, £4.99
Badger balm is a family run American company that make a range of organic certified beauty products, from haircare to aching joints, they have it covered. They do a few different sore muscle balms and sore joint balms that could definitely come in handy for that painful morning-after-the-day-before post match soreness! You can find their products on amazon for uk delivery – but have a read of their website here to see how great a company it is and their ethos.
Vintage leather rugby ball, prices varies from £20
These come in different sizes/colours and patterns but you can find plenty down Portobello Road market on a Saturday morning. Remember a lot of these will be reproduction, which is fine for a decorative item like this, as long you are paying a reproduction price and it is not being sold as a genuine antique when it is not. So be careful and remember when you are buying down the market you are perfectly within your rights to haggle the price down a bit!
Smart Shake, Protein Shaker, £7.99
Most men who work out, playing rugby will probably have some kind of supplements and/or protein shake now and again or even regularly. Have you ever smelt an old protein shake cup?! It is disgusting! Get him a brand new one to start off 2015 less stinky. There are lots of colours and types to choose from… we like the Smartshake Original Gunsmoke 800 …. Perfect for those who like their protein shakes XL!
