There is no better way to start the morning than taking in the aroma and taste of a freshly
brewed cup of coffee. It certainly makes it all the better if that coffee happens to be London
Grade Coffee.
London Grade Coffee blends
This week, I swapped out my supermarket coffee with London Grade’s top three rich, organic
grounds. I started off with Albion, a medium roast with hints of cardamom, pepper and vanilla. I
was immediately enticed by the warm, comforting notes coming from the brew. The flavour
was compelling and welcoming, yet not too blunt or complex. I found it to be a very great
staple coffee for every day and has definitely been my go-to coffee this week when I want
something flavourful but less robust.
I then moved onto Tokenhouse. This is where we go into the deeper flavour range. The notes in
this blend are cardamom, hazelnut, and dark chocolate. I’d again found the taste of this brew
to be very compelling, but now in a different way. The dark chocolate really came through in
taste, creating a deep, rich, heavy yet appealing taste. I feel Tokenhouse would be the perfect
coffee to enhance a chilly winter’s day, or with the way our spring has been looking so far, a
chilly English spring day!
The final taste test was held for the Espresso with the bold notes of dark chocolate and
caramel. I am a big fan of dark roasts, so this became a personal favourite of mine when I took
the first sip.
Single origin, organic coffee
Not only was I extremely impressed with the flavour range showcased in all of the different
brews I had tasted, but was intrigued to know that all coffee from London Grade Coffee is
purchased from a single, organic estate in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, South India. The climate of
this region actually aids in the development of the sweetness and depth created in the bean’s
flavour.
London Grade Coffee has been purchasing and importing coffee directly from them for the last
two years in order to ensure their products are organic, and of the highest standard quality.
They also creatively use packaging that is composed of kraft and recycled paper, as well as
sugar cane to ensure they are during their part in avoiding more damage to the environment.
These roasts from London Grade Coffee are extremely enticing to the palate and wonderful
additions to add to your morning caffeine routine. I know now that after switching up my
weekly coffee, it will be impossible for me to revert to buying supermarket coffee again! I’m
officially hooked on London Grade Coffee and love their efforts made to supporting small
ethical coffee farmers as well as assisting in the fight against plastic usage.
