With Christmas swiftly galloping towards us, I have been looking for some alternative gifts that are both healthy and thoughtful…. and in this particular case, tasty. Oh and obviously I should try it out myself first right? I discovered Chelsea Parsons via her lovely instagram account @well_and_happy – like me she has a dog, and I loved her mixture of positivity, doggie mum posts, healthy food and wellness interests. Then I saw that she makes homemade hampers which looked lovely… I had to try them!
I contacted Chelsea via email and ordered the medium Well & Happy hamper, (now that the website has been launched you can just order directly online.) Chelsea’s client communication is impeccable, she was so quick responding to all emails and was very easy to get hold of, answering all my questions and getting the order ready and sent out to me very promptly. As I mentioned the Well and Happy website has now been launched and so now you can see all the different treats that she makes and while the hampers are hand chosen according to seasonal and local availability you can request a specific something or simply just leave it to Chelsea, like I did. I love a surprise so this suited me perfectly!
The hamper arrived beautifully packaged in a cute little wooden crate (I’ve kept mine and using it in my kitchen to keep some ingredients in) and it was completely jam packed with goodies! All the treats are raw or baked healthy treats, organic and mostly vegan, although some contain raw honey which is clearly outlined and I am certain if you required a strictly vegan hamper Chelsea could cater for you easily. Every individual treat was fantastically packaged, it is so lovely that Chelsea uses glass bottles and jars which you can keep and reuse, or recycle. One of my favourite things about the whole hamper is the cute labels put on each treat. Each of these labels are handwritten with what each item is, and on the other side printed with lovely positive words such as “Inhale love and exhale gratitude” and “dream, believe, achieve”
How did it taste?!
Delicious! My favourites are the ferrero rocher style bliss balls, and the kombucha tea. (I had never tried kombucha before and was a bit wary as it never sounds too appetising, but Chelsea’s is delicious!!) The raw millionaires shortbread was also a winner for me. To be honest there really wasn’t anything I didn’t like!
A Well and Happy hamper would make a lovely treat for someone that is embracing a healthy lifestyle. It is unique, handmade and the evidence of how much care and thought that has gone into it is clear. It is absolutely overflowing with positivity and loving vibes… I know that sounds a bit hippy but it is just so true and it made me smile so much. On Chelsea’s website there are also some recipes she is kindly sharing and also my favourite feature is her ‘Kitchen Cupboard’ which is a great break down of some healthy cupboard essentials and also a bit about each one. I also noticed that in 2015 there will be some Well & Happy events…. I will definitely be signing up to that!
