Last month, I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful event hosted by Shokz, a brand known for its innovative bone conduction headphones. The event was to celebrate the upcoming launch of their two latest headphones. It was a perfect blend of wellness activities, delicious food, and insightful discussions, making it a truly enjoyable experience.
Upon arrival I was given a pair of the new Shokz OpenFit Air headphones to try out. Members of the Shokz team kindly paired them with my phone and guided me through using them. The atmosphere was very relaxed, allowing us to take part in whichever activity we felt like, while we waited for the presentations to start.
There were restorative yoga sessions, giving guests the opportunity to stretch, breathe, and centre ourselves; a perfect start to the day.
We were also treated to relaxing shoulder and back massages. The skilled therapists worked their magic, melting away any lingering tension and stress. It was a much-appreciated indulgence for this tired mum!
No wellness event is complete without great food, and Shokz did not disappoint. The brunch spread was nothing short of amazing, offering a variety of healthy, delicious options. From fresh fruit, to pastries, bagels and adorable micro egg dishes, there was something for everyone.
Most impressive was the Immersion Room. This was a space set up with huge video screens showing a range of different environments, while speakers played the ambient sounds you would expect to hear there. Standing within this space while listening to music on my new Shokz OpenFit Air headphones, provided excellent ‘real world scenarios’ to test out the headphones in. To say I was stunned by the quality would be an understatement, but, I’ll save that for the full review.
After the thrill of the Immersion Room, I dashed off to check out the customisation table. Everyone knows I’m a sucker for customising everything I own, so I was over the moon to see Shokz had a machine that provided super fast, laser customisation for their guests’ new OpenFit Air cases. I wasn’t sure what to choose, so I went with my Instagram handle, despite not having much time for the socials these days. Watching that little laser carve out my name onto the beautiful matt case was such a thrill and I’m so grateful to Shokz for providing this extra service.
The highlight of the event was the series of talks by Shokz staff. Learning how bone conduction headphones work was truly fascinating and worthy of a whole separate article. Also speaking was their UK brand ambassador, Tom Evans, an accomplished endurance runner. He shared his experiences and insights on the importance of integrating technology with fitness. His passion for running and the benefits of using Shokz headphones were truly inspiring. It was fascinating to hear firsthand how Shokz’s bone conduction technology has enhanced his training and performance.
Throughout the event, the incredibly friendly Shokz staff were eager to answer any questions and provide demonstrations of their headphones. It was great to also chat with them about the experience of listening to music while exercising and the various challenges it can pose, especially for women. Their enthusiasm and knowledge about the product were evident, as was their genuine passion for providing the best possible listening experience for people on the move; whatever movement that may be.
Overall, the Shokz event was a fantastic experience. It was great to learn more about the unique features and benefits of Shokz headphones. However the event didn’t feel like it was just about promoting a brand or their new products, but also about fostering a sense of community and well-being. I left feeling inspired, relaxed, and excited to incorporate Shokz into my own fitness routine. A big thank you to Shokz for hosting such a wonderful event!
