Broccoli is a hard one to get right in smoothies – you need enough to make it worthwhile but not too much that it tastes like you need a roast dinner with it. Don’t worry thought, we’ve trialled and errored to bring you the perfect broccoli and pineapple smoothie.
This broccoli and pineapple smoothie has the perfect amount of broccoli in it – thus ensuring you receive the extensive health benefits it has to offer. Laden with vitamin C, iron, fibre, B-complex and more, this is a seriously super smoothie. Best drunk first thing in the morning, it’ll keep you charged throughout the day. Furthermore, pineapple is thought to have superb anti-inflammatory properties and immune support so if you’re feeling a little run down this smoothie is essential for you.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup broccoli, chopped
- 1 handful of spinach leaves
- 1/3 ripe pineapple
- 1 tsp goji berries
- 1 cup (approximately) almond milk
- 1tsp chia seeds to top
Method
- Blend everything together until smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately with a smile. This one’s a good one.
Broccoli is one of those vegetables that a lot of people like, just less so in drinks. This smoothie has the best balance of veg and fruit and the sharp sweetness of the pineapple really helps dampen the earthyness of the broccoli.
