What?! You’re recommending we go and hang out at a grimy old station? Yes, you heard correctly. Old Street station to be correct. It may sound strange, but there’s all sorts of exciting things happening there that we’d hate you to miss. And they’re not going to be there for long – so hurry!
With almost 25 million commuters entering and exiting Old Street station in 2014, it’s little wonder that its underground foyer has become the hub to showcase the latest start-ups and small businesses. And best of all, with health and fitness being all the rage right now, there’s some awesome little foodie and fitness pop-ups.
Now you can sweat off your lunch with a fitness class before picking up a cold-pressed juice and tasty protein pot before you head home.
So what’s currently making the headlines at Old Street Station?
The line-up of stalls changes but here’s our favourite Old Street popups in February:
Moju, until c. mid February
Unlike most cold-pressed juice companies, Moju are a) vegetable-based and b) affordable. Yeah, that’s right, you don’t have to sell your gran in order to be able to drink their juices. We love that there’s more of the good stuff and less of the natural sugars and that they still tastes great. And at less than £3 per bottle, they’re a no brainer. Get there before they sell out!
Pollen & Grace, until 6th Feb
Serving a variety of exciting healthy food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you might as well just set up camp here, right now. Start your day with coconut porridge, followed by a replenish and cleanse salmon box for lunch, with Thai pumpkin soup to finish your day. Don’t you dare leave without getting an indulgent peanut butter mylk! Everything here is dairy-free, gluten-free and only natural sugars are used.
Frame, until 7th Feb
With all this food around, it’s only right there was some place to work it off. With quick, fast classes, including ‘mini barre’, you can fit your workout in before you even hit your desk. And if shopping’s more your thing, you can pick up a new pair of leggings or even natural skincare. As well as workouts, there are also talks so be sure to check out their website for more info on what’s coming up and how to book.
