A quick search on Instagram for ‘yoga’ reveals that yoga is becoming ever popular amongst men, with many demonstrating incredible muscular feats. Indeed, go to any yoga class and there will be twice as many men there than before. So in a world filled with stuff for women, what do you get that man who loves yoga? We’ve had a look at what’s out there and spoken to many yogis to come up with our top favourite presents who yoga-loving men.
It’s Asana Short, Lululemon, £62
It’s no secret that yoga is sweaty work, for both men and women, so lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics are a must. And especially for men, shorts that hold everything in, especially during inversions, is critical. Otherwise yoga suddenly becomes more scary, than soothing. These shorts, as well as having four-watch stretch, also have an internal front panel to keep balls secure.
Warrior Plus Yoga Mat, £23.50
With 33% extra thickness, this yoga mat is grippy, squishy and comfortable. At 61cm x 183cm it has a ‘height’ of 6mm which allows for extra cushioning for some of the more awkward poses. It’s perfect for yoga at home or in a studio.
Metal Vent Tech Tank, Lululemon, £45
This hidden-seamed (anti-chafe) tank top has air vents in all the right places and an anti-stink fabric that also inhibits the growth of bacteria so even if you’re sweaty after your workout, your top should stay relatively stink-free. This top is also lightweight and stretchy so you can experiment with even the most crazy of postures without constriction.
Gaiam Yoga Brick, £10.99
For men who need extra support with their yoga postures, a brick is essential. These come in four different colours, with green being our favourite. They’re lightweight yet strong and will help prevent injury, aid alignment and increase flexibility safely.
Manduka Yoga Strap 2.4m, £12
We often need a little help when it comes to flexibility and men can often find yoga straps aid with this. The Manduka yoga strap is based on the version used by yoga master, Iyengar. Made of 100% cotton it’s friendly on hands and a lot more effective than using sweaty towels which we see so many men doing in classes as a last resort.

Ok so these won’t be available in time for Christmas but we couldn’t leave something so amazing off! Originating as a Kickstarter project (successful, of course), they are a set of 9 soldiers doing the most common yoga poses. Who doesn’t want a set of these?! And they come in pink too.
