The event was the launch of American fitness brand, Orangetheory Fitness. The event was hosted at their now flagship studio in Wandsworth. Orangetheory Fitness has been described as a premium workout that guarantees continuous calories burn even up to 36 hours post workout. In addition to this, they use state of the art wearable technology to give you a summary of how hard you worked in a session, with calories burnt and measuring your heart rate!
Having heard about Orangetheory Fitness before attending I was feeding into my curiosity about this new orange phenomenon. A friend had told me how the experience had changed her approach to training and kept her consistent, so I definitely was looking forward to trying it for myself. I personally enjoy pushing myself and look for challenges in workouts. Before beginning the workout, we took our Inner Selfie (a combination of body mass measurements and wellness tests). We were guided by super-friendly instructor, Vero, through a three part workout consisting of water rowing, resistance/weight training and sprints. The session is definitely worth every minute and kept me on my toes as I knew I had to give my all before moving to the next station!
The highlight had to be meeting Matt Dawson, who I wrongly guessed was an athlete. (I got a bit tongue tied but I was definitely a bit star stuck lol) It was an amazing experience to learn about how hard I push myself or work during a workout, and definitely felt the after effects the day after!
