Hannah recently experimented cooking with the fabulous Ground Fava Beans from Fava Mill. Having a sweet-tooth, her favourite recipe is the Chocolate Bliss Balls and Fava Mill has kindly given us the recipe so we could share the deliciousness with you! Not only are they a healthy snack, they are packed full of protein and fibre – perfect for vegetarians looking to boost their protein intake.

As a vegetarian, the most frequent question I get asked is how do I ensure I get enough protein? After having discovered Fava Mill’s Ground Fava Beans, the answer is simple – I add Fava Beans to everything! From soups and smoothies, to original recipes sourced from the Fava Mill website, this little bean is extremely versatile and their variety of granola is delicious.

Chocolate Bliss Balls

Ingredients:

2 avocados
1 banana
10g Ground Fava Beans
5g raw cocoa powder
5g coconut powder
5g flour of choice
10ml dried and chopped dates
coconut flakes
approx. 5ml almond milk for right texture

Instructions:

Grind the Ground Beans in a mixer. Add all other ingredients and keep mixing. Add some almond milk – just enough to get the ingredients to mix together. Roll the dough into balls by hand. Pour some coconut flakes on a plate and roll the chocolate balls in coconut flakes. Allow to set in the fridge for about 10 minutes. Enjoy!
