Spring is officially here but its still a bit chilly isn’t it?! Here at HLL we are getting increasingly obsessed with the incredible amount of amazing fitness kit there is out there (we’re not the only ones are we?!) So we thought we would round up some of our current Spring workout favourites – lovely but also practical items for this transitional time of year!
1. The Buff Cycle helmet liner £20
Designed to be worn with any protective headgear and ideal for the cyclist. I’m beginning to think about getting my bike out again after it’s annual winter retirement, but a helmet liner like this is incredibly useful while the weather is still a bit chilly. It is particularly important if you cycle to and from the gym – you need to make sure you keep really warm when you leave after a sweaty workout and this liner is the perfect addition to your kit. My favourite is this ‘Mica’ pattern as it will go with pretty much any workout kit I’m wearing – but Buff have a great selection of colours worth checking out.
2. Running hooded top by Bjorn Borg £55
I just love this long sleeve hoodie – the pattern is perfect for spring, with vibrant colours and is generally just totally gorgeous as well as practical! The material is sweat wicking, long sleeved with thumb holes (yay!) and on the back just above the left hip is a little pocket for your ipod/iphone. The length of the top is great too – has a nice long fit, so if you are like me and prefer a bit of extra coverage when out for a run this is perfect for you too!
3. Run Tights from Sweaty Betty £90
I’m always keeping an eye out for delicious leggings. Sweaty Betty regularly comes up with patterns I love and for spring I think its nice to be sporting some colour! These are my current spring pick – definitely not for the faint-hearted but I think they are amazing and the black strip down the side of the legs create flattering lines. Sweaty Betty have a number of body-sculpting leggings in their collection and I am also a massive fan of their zero-gravity range which I definitely recommend checking out!
4. Lauren Long Tight in Smoke by Nimble Activewear £63
Active In Style are constantly stocking the most gorgeous of workout kits and I am not ashamed to admit I probably check their site every week to see what lovely newness has arrived! These tights by Nimble Activewear are on my current lust-list and if it wasn’t for having a wedding & honeymoon to save for these would be in my wardrobe by now! If you are not one of the brighter legging tribe like the previous pair then perhaps these will be more your style? I love how subtle the print is but enough to be interesting. Love love love.
5. Perfect Fit T-shirt by Boom Boom Athletica £55
Every workout wardrobe needs a perfect black top (especially if you are investing in some amazing patterned leggings) and I recently found this t-shirt which ticks all my boxes. Lovely soft material that hangs really well with a slightly longer line so it doesn’t ride up while you work out. A little bit of mesh in the caps of the sleeves adds a nice touch of design but still allows the top to be neutral and go with absolutely everything. Super flattering and one I literally wear all the time… it also washes perfectly which is also a bonus!
6. I know I said 5 but I couldn’t write about workout kits without mentioning our very own EAT SWEAT BREATHE Ethos hoodie! £35
Only available from us, and even though you may say I’m bias we have purposely sourced an absolutely top quality hoodie that we are really proud of – very warm and cosy – perfect for going to and fro from the gym and available in two colour ways – blue with gold writing or dark grey with pink writing. Did I mention there are thumb holes too….!
What are your top Spring picks? Let us know – we don’t want to miss anything!
