SIX3NINE gyms are members-only boutique studios, specialising in one-to-one bespoke personal training, nutritional support and fitness classes. They have just opened a new studio in Liverpool Street, which we went down to check out.
On Tuesday 29th September, I took a visit down to SIX3NINE’s new gym in Liverpool Street. The studio is located just minutes walk from Liverpool Street station, making it incredibly accessible from all parts of London. I was booked in for a tour of the gym and body MOT with Dan.
On arrival, I was warmly greeted and told more about SIX3NINE as a brand. Their mission;
To deliver empathetic and flexible guidance, based on cutting edge science, to help clients be the best versions of themselves possible.
Gym tour
The Liverpool Street studio is spread over two floors. The top floor of the gym is an open gym with an array of equipment from dumbbells to barbells to cardiovascular machines and so on.
Downstairs are two good-sized gender specific changing rooms and a small private studio for classes and one-to-one sessions. The venue was impressively spacious and didn’t disappoint when it came to kit.
My MOT
After the tour, Dan asked me about my overall health and fitness. He asked whether I had any injuries and what my normal training routine was. I sprained my ankle about a year ago and it has been a slow rehabilitation process. This is something I was keen to work on with Dan. I wanted to see if I could progress and get better strength in my ankle long term.
Dan set me a few exercises to do in front of him, which varied from pistol squat progression to single leg deadlifts. On departure, he also gave me further rehabilitation exercises to do in my own time.
I would definitely recommend a visit to SIX3NINE. Whether you want to improve your overall fitness, work on an injury, or to work towards a certain goal they are geared up to help. The focus is on encouraging ‘prehab’ rather than ‘rehab’. Conditioning our bodies to be stronger than before and less prone to injury.
A personal approach to training
SIX3NINE offer a very personal approach to training that focuses solely on what you want to achieve and one-to-one work. The facilities and coaches on offer are great. It is also refreshing to see that they have stripped the fitness studio model back to basics with clients to allow them to understand movement and exercise first before pushing them to their max.
