The leaves are falling and autumn is here, weather (yes, that spelling is on purpose) you like it or not! The heating goes on, or we definitely consider turning it on and we start to dig out those cosy hoodies and woolly hats. As the nights draw in and the days shorten, Healthy Living London wants to keep you motivated throughout the colder seasons. So, we have compiled a list of October’s Top Picks to help motivate and inspire.
October is also the month for our writers, Hannah and Rosie’s birthdays. 🎂
Here are our October’s Top Picks
• Ecoffee Cup
Ecoffee Cup products are made with natural fibres, corn starch and resin. They are BPA, BPS and phthalate-free. The lid and sleeve are made with matte, food-grade silicone which is latex-free and designed especially for hot liquids. They have a re-sealable ‘no-drip’ lid. Plus, the whole product – cup, lid and sleeve – is dishwasher safe.
I love finding products that are eco-conscious and sustainable and Ecoffee Cup is just that. If I can make a difference, I will. So many coffee cups are thrown into landfill every year, it’s heartbreaking, so why not bring your own.
I absolutely love my Roxy ’81 cup; the design is fun and I definitely won’t forget it anywhere! They have a large range of designs and sizes to suit your needs.

• UP LED Vest
The UP LED Vest has three bright battery operated LED lights on the front and the back, that can flash or be on. The reflective strips and bright yellow colour mean you will be seen. Fits over coats and sweaters, with velcro tabs.
As the days are getting darker, it’s important to stay safe and be seen. Healthy Living London loves the UP LED Vest for bright visibility. The vest is easy to put on with velcro straps, is bright and even shines through my long hair, and is lightweight – easy to carry and store, once you’ve reached your destination.

• Ultimate Performance Wrist Bands
Ultimate Performance Wristbands are made with 85% cotton and 15% elastane, for a moisture absorbing and comfortable fit. The UP wristbands come as a pair, so you can always give one to your partner, as I feel two are not always necessary.
As more and more of us are choosing to exercise outdoors, a wristband has become easier to wear than carrying a towel. For those of us heading back to gyms, we are being told that towels are no longer allowed in public areas. So wrist bands have become a must-have item to wipe your brow, during those all-out sessions. Wrist bands are not just for tennis players!

• Giesswein’s Wool Cross X Women
The Wool Cross X has a 100% merino wool lining, is temperature regulating, super light and wearable without socks. They are no sweat as merino wool wicks sweat away and is naturally antibacterial. The sole provides maximum stability and an ideal cushioning effect on all surfaces.
Giesswein has become my favourite go to brand for shoes. They have a range of sport shoes, as well as casual shoes and slippers, which look super cosy. The company is eco-conscious and focuses on sustainability. I have grown my Giesswein shoe collection this year as they are so light, comfortable and versatile. Check out my review of Giesswein’s Merino Runners.

• Popfit Online Workouts
Popfit Method was created by Steph Burrows, a professionally trained dancer who uses her skills to create fun workouts that are accessible to all levels of fitness. From Yoga and Barre classes, to Dance Cardio and Quickie Abs, there’s something for everyone. Check out my review of Popfit here. (The studio is currently closed, as Steph is focussing on her online classes during this time.)
Lockdown started a trend that has made working out so much more accessible to all. There are so many options out there, from apps, to zoom sessions, to subscriptions. My favourite is Popfit. At home dance workouts, with no one watching… brilliant!

• Four Sigmatic Mushroom Chai Latte Mix
Hot mushroom drinks are actually really good! I picked this up from Planet Organic, along with the Golden Latte sachet. Even though I ignored the instructions to add hot water (I made it with half hot oat milk, half hot water and it turned out a little lumpy), it was really creamy and delicious. I can’t say whether it was good for my gut, or calming, but I’ll definitely pick up another couple of sachets the next time I see it.
Rest and self care is important, so a duvet day is wonderful, especially when paired with a warm drink. Planet Organic advertise this unique concoction as a… “Ready to drink with hot water. Add to your favourite smoothie. Caffeine-free, vegan, and certified paleo. Support restful sleep with reishi. Sip regularly to support a happy gut.”
Find yours at Planet Organic for £19.99 (However, they are currently on offer; buy 1 get 1 half price.)

• Mackerel Pate from Bourne’s Fishmonger
There are several Bournes fishmongers in London, but the one on Highbury Barn is my local. I’m there every week. And I’ve just discovered the mackerel pate. It’s fishy and delicious and goes amazingly well with a toasted bagel. It’s made fresh on site and sells out fast, so if you’re going to take a special trip up there, best to call ahead and reserve a pot!
