Triple Chocolate Protein Milkshake

GLUTEN-FREE

Serves 1

It sounds too good to be true but chocolate milkshakes don’t have to come laden with guilt. In fact, this is the perfect post-workout snack as it’s packed with protein – and delicious protein at that!

Triple chocolate protein milkshake

We’ve deliberately packed this full of good stuff so you can enjoy something that not only tastes amazing but is good for you too. As well as a good dollop of chocolate WheyHey! ice cream, we’ve also got Provamel nut milk (the Macadamia one which is just as yummy on its own), Total Greek yoghurt which is also a protein powerhouse and delicious cacao nibs and cacao powder. We estimate there’s at least 10-12g of protein in there in total.

The chia seeds also help slow down digestion meaning your pancreas doesn’t get too overworked. This has also been said to help prevent the onset of diabetes.

Ingredients for Triple chocolate protein milkshake recipe

From top left, clockwise: Provamel Macademia nut milk, Detox Your World chia seeds, frozen banana, Total Greek yoghurt, WheyHey! chocolate ice cream.

Ingredients
  • 1 heaped tbsp Chocolate WheyHey ice cream (we get ours from MuscleFood)
  • 1 heaped tsp chia seeds
  • 1/3 banana
  • 1 cup nut milk (we used Provamel Macadamia)
  • 1 tsp cacao nibs
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • 1/2 tub small Total Greek Yoghurt
Method
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour into a large glass and drink slowly, savouring every mouthful.

We really love this recipe – especially because the cacao nibs give it great texture. And the Macadamia just adds a really nuttylicious flavour to it. Best of all, if you don’t like banana, you can just leave it out – it works just as well.

Here, we used Total 0% but we’re also fan of the Total Original. Did you know Greek Yoghurt is a great source of protein?
