Amy is very excited to be have been asked to become a London Classpass Ambassador and while she’s had to keep it under her hat for a bit we are now able to proudly announce it. Here’s a bit about her fitness journey and why she is so excited to be a representative for them!
WHY I’VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH CLASSPASS
I primarily started Classpass because I found myself with so many accounts at different gyms. It was such a financial strain, so when I heard that Classpass was coming to London and saw the caliber of the gyms that signed up, I jumped on board. I definitely did my homework first, as you can only go to each place 3 times in a month, so when you want to work out 5-6 times a week this means you need to have quite a few places you want to go to within a reasonable distance from you. Luckily for me, west London has lots, so I am spoiled for choice! For me, it is all about fitting workouts in around my lifestyle as like many people I work full time, have a fiance, a dog, a wedding to plan, a house being done up, and of course friends to see. The typical busy Londoner. The Classpass app makes it so easy to book and find classes that fit in with your schedule – many of the best classes sell out quickly so I tend to plan a week ahead… but to be honest this is the best way to make sure you do actually get your workouts in anyway – if you leave it to the last minute the likelihood you will feel too tired and don’t push yourself to get out that door. Classpass has helped me organise my workouts which has made me so much more productive but helps me keep to my workout plan as I am not dreading every workout. I love the variation – if you feel you’ve done enough HIIT or cardio in a week you can factor in some pilates, barre or yoga just as easily, you don’t have the limitations that a single gym membership has where you are tied to what they offer and nothing else.
When I started my fitness journey I was very conscious that I was always the big girl in the class. I would be jumping about trying not to tear up when I caught my reflection in the mirror…. I would be terrified of new gyms and even walked in and walked out because I was afraid. The journey is a slow one because I still like to eat the odd naughty burger so my diet isn’t as clean as it could be, but it means I have not been miserable – this has been a journey that has brought me so much happiness and helped me build my self worth. I remember hoping that one day I would be able to do a proper press up on my toes instead of my knees…. now I am able to them with a medicine ball under one hand. These little achievements along the way are what has driven me. Yes, I still have curves (but they are becoming better placed!) and there are always fitter, slimmer girls in the classes that totally intimidate me…. but I just try to keep my head down and think about my journey – I’ve come a long way and Classpass has helped me massively.
