Boogie Bounce is an energy fuelled class that has everyone smiling and shaking their bootie! I love to find classes that feel more like having fun than an exercise workout and Boogie Bounce had me singing along and bouncing away from the start. Inspired by an injury, Jenny Belcher created Boogie Bounce in order to help strengthen an injured knee, thus avoiding surgery. The trampoline takes the pressure off your knees as you workout, plus it’s fun! Even NASA claims bouncing is, “the most efficient and effective exercise yet devised by man”. This HIIT class incorporates cardio as well as strengthening and toning exercises.
I arrived at the studio to welcoming smiley faces. Familiar feel good tunes were playing as I headed to the changing rooms. Once I had my lycra on and my laces tied, I headed to a trampoline. Then we were off! With the help of a Britney style head-set, Jenny led an energetic 45 minute class that included lots of bouncing, as you’d expect, as well as twists, squats, leg kicks and even some high jumps! These were made possible due to the safety bar that is attached to the trampoline. All the movements targeted certain parts of the body, such as the thighs and the glutes. Jenny even incorporated some ab exercises at the end of the class, to fully work us to the core!
