Healthy Living London was invited to a HIIT yoga class with Merrell and Our Parks in London’s Hyde Park. Our Parks offers free one hour classes, led by fully qualified instructors, all over England. Catering to all levels over the age of sixteen, but allowing children over the age of three to join in with their parents, Our Parks is a great way to get outdoors and workout with a group of like-minded participants.
I arrived bright and early to Hyde Park ready for my morning workout with Our Parks and was rewarded with sunshine. Celebrating the collaboration of Merrell and Our Parks, we were given a pair of Merrell’s Bare Access shoes! What a wonderful way to start the day; free shoes and a free workout! (The shoes were a one off, so please don’t expect these when you head to your local Our Parks’ class.) With ever increasing gym and studio prices, it is great that Merrell and Our Parks are bringing free classes to parks around London and beyond, making exercise accessible for all.
“Launched in 2014, Our Parks works with councils and development agencies to offer quality group outdoor exercise programmes for users in local parks and community settings for free.” Merrell
The HIIT Yoga class really worked us to the core. Incorporating short bursts of the usual HIIT exercises, such as planks, squats and lunges, we were then rewarded with stretches and breathing exercises as well as a few sun salutations, which felt lovely in the warmth of the sunshine! Merrell’s Bare Access shoes are flexible and comfortable and their mesh lining means that they are breathable, perfect on a warm day. I wore my Bare Access shoes home and walked through the park. They are designed with both the trail and the road in mind and they have a great grip and felt comfy on both terrains. On a personal note, I love the colour!
“Merrell and Our Parks share an ambition to encourage people to use ‘nature’s gym’ to improve health and fitness levels as well as bring a sense of pleasure and play to outdoor activity.” Merrell
